After getting drafted the Heat started the first 20 game 5-15 . But Wades game excelled game after game and by the end of the season the Heat finshed 41-40 clining on the 4th seed .Going against the Hornets in the first round and beating them in 7 games . Wade was one of the 2 rookies that lead his team and win a playoff series that season .After that , it was off to Indiana to play against the Pacers . The Heat were the underdogs going into the series and actualy keeping up with the pacers . The Miami Heat would still fall short and lose to the Pacers in 6 games . Wade averaged 18 points , 5.6 assisits and 4 rebounds in the 2004 playoffs .
Wade was 3rd in the rookie of the year pooling ( behind Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James). Wades rookie season was the beggining of a dynasty in Miami . Wade brought live in basketball in Miami .
